Church Update – 18/08/17

David Medland   -

Good afternoon church family.

Nearly the weekend. I hope you enjoy some relaxing time tomorrow.

I am looking forward to being with you all on Sunday as we share in the last of the Doing Time series. I hope you can make it as we look at Build Alignment. I will be handing out a card that captures the whole series.

We will be watching a video about the work of The Salvation Army in Mexico. The Altar Service for Self Denial is the following Sunday 27 August. To help you prepare, we will hand out envelopes this Sunday to those who have not already received one. Thank you for considering your financial contribution to this very important Appeal for our International Army.

Is anyone able to help Dorothy in the kitchen? She is on her own at this point looking after morning tea. Please let David know by text 021-414-947. Thanks.

Following the service this Sunday, there is the See What Love Can Do lunch meeting for all the Stepping Stones and Children’s Church team, as well as anyone who would like to know more about this very exciting programme in our church.

Kris Singh will be reminding us about the Connect night coming up on Friday 22 September. See the poster for more information.

We welcome Niven to the team as he takes up the temporary Youth Worker role whilst Jordan and Lucy are overseas.

I hope that you find this Sunday service to be a feast of community, teaching, worship and inspiration. Like the early church we read about in Acts.

I will be away next week from Monday to Thursday at Officers Fellowship in Hamner Springs. I shall be in the office on Friday. Please be in touch if you do need me during this time.

I would be grateful if you would check out the information about the Service of Lament in Strathmore on Sunday afternoon 27 August. I am planning to attend and would love to have others come join me.

God is near

Pastor Dave
