Church Update – 01/09/17

David Medland   -

Hi church family

I read this morning John 15:11 where Jesus is speaking with his disciples. “I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow.” Jesus was speaking about the importance of staying connected with him – like the branches need to stay connected to the vine. As a church we enjoy a vibrant relationship with God that has the possibility of joy overflowing. We also love belonging to a faith community with the many privileges that come with it.

This Sunday we celebrate Father’s Day – What My Father Taught Me. This family service has a similar format to Mother’s Day – fun and interactive for all ages. Not to be missed!

During the service Madeleine Cope will be dedicated to God by her grandma Major Julie Cope. We love you guys and stand alongside you as you raise your precious girls.

We will also have our Cherish a Child offering supporting our sponsored children in Burma. as well as a further opportunity to give to the Self Denial Appeal.

Next Saturday is our Animals at The Inn cafe and petting zoo. Come along and be a part of the event – not only in serving, but also in engaging with our community. Set up on Friday night is from 6pm. We would love to have your help with the set up, and pack up after the event.

Enjoy this first day of spring and also Random Act of Kindness Day.

See you Sunday.
